Noah Earle June 22, 2008
Jeanette Baird, who has produced countless shows for her house concert series, has this to say about Noah Earle: “I have heard a lot of songwriters over the past 15 years but none have impressed me more than Noah Earle.” On his self-released debut, Six Ways to Sunday, this singer-songwriter displayed unmistakable talent as he explored many stylistic avenues. His first release for MayApple Records, Postcards From Home, finds Earle focusing his songwriting solidly in the Americana vein. To do so, he doesn’t need to use the same tired images and forced symbolism oft abused by so many of his contemporaries rather, he has at his disposal a childhood worth of experience from his upbringing in Topeka, Kansas - Keystone Light, Channel Cats, Quick Shops. Now residing on a farm in Hallsville, Missouri, he need only step outside to his own garden for earthly inspiration, reaping sentiments like those found in the heart-warming title track. How did he learn to fuse sharp political insight with raw sexuality? We're not sure we want to know. No matter - listen to some samples and you'll hear how Earle is worthy of high praise.

Uncle Rico's Time Machine July 27, 2008
After a short holiday season spent traveling back in time to the 1950s following Buck Owens around to find out the true meaning of "Tiger by the Tail" & walking the streets of Bakersfield for ourselves, we are back and ready to kickoff 2008 like the 50s are back in style! So if you think you're ready, pack your bags for a four hour trip back to a time when music was music and the price of a gallon of gas wasn't a weeks' pay. If you haven't seen Uncle Rico's Time Machine before they consist of: John, Jeremy, and Jason Chapman of The Chapmans, Dave Harp of the Arkamo Rangers, and Kelly Freeland formally of Tractor Supply Co., playing old time country and honky-tonk/western-swing.

Da Mullets are Back! August 23, 2008
From Mozart to Motown, Beatles to Bluegrass, Da Mullets blend a wide variety of music styles into an acoustic mix sprinkled with a few original compositions. Tight vocal harmonies and hot pickin’ jams are the order of the day, thrown onto everything from 1930’s cowboy swing to 60’s acid rock.
Bo Brown (guitar, dobro, mandolin, vocals), DC Cunningham (guitar, banjo, vocals), and DR Randolph (bass, vocals) all have a rather lengthy musical history in the Springfield area, with bands such as The Undergrass Boys, Homegrown, Hogmolly, Howie & the Hillcats, and Men at Pause. The boys are proud of the fact that most everyone will hear a song they recognize, although probably not like they’re used to hearing it.
